Spooky season arrived once again at DAIS and DHS! This year, students, teachers, and families joined together to celebrate Halloween with a month full of exciting events. From concerts and costume parades to the long-awaited student-led Monster Mash and Haunted House, every corner of the campus was full of Halloween spirit and creativity.
On November 1, the DAIS and DHS community came together to celebrate Halloween with a variety of festive activities and events. From thrilling games to creative costumes, the Halloween spirit filled every corner of the campus, and excitement spread throughout Dalian!
The annual Monster Mash, hosted by the DAIS and DHS Student Government, transformed the campus into a lively Halloween fest, attracting over 500 families from across Dalian. With 30+ student-led games and activities, students and visitors enjoyed an unforgettable event. Outside, food vendors offered delicious snacks and treats, making the event a highlight for the entire community.
Meanwhile, the National Honor Society hosted their Haunted House in the secondary building. This year’s theme, “Excellence Academy,” reflected the academic pressures students face, turning them into a hauntingly creative experience that had guests screaming all night long.

As night fell, the classic Trick-or-Treat tradition began! Organized by the Parent Support Group and the campus village community, families decorated their homes and cars, prepared candy, and dressed in costume to welcome trick-or-treaters. Whether you’re part of the community or just visiting, it’s an event you won’t want to miss.

On October 30, DAIS elementary students filled the campus with excitement during the annual Costume Parade. Families gathered as students showcased their creative outfits. Afterward, classrooms were full of themed games and sweet treats.

On October 28, the Music Department set the stage for a beautiful and spooky Halloween concert, “The Cave You Fear.” Students performed in costume, presenting pieces such as Wicked, Mythos, Skeleton Crawl, and Dark Ride. The performance showcased both musical talent and Halloween creativity.

Throughout October, the Secondary Library hosted a series of Halloween-themed activities. The month started with “Frightfully Fresh New Books”, followed by “No Tricks, Just Smart Clicks”, a digital citizenship event. To close out the spooky season, faculty volunteers joined as guest readers for “Haunted Halloween Reads”, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere for everyone.

From the Monster Mash to Trick-or-Treating, this year’s Halloween celebrations were memorable for the DAIS and DHS community. The campus was full of creativity, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Thank you to everyone who filled the campus with Halloween spirit.
