Halloween Celebrations at DAIS

Monster Mash

On Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29 Dalian American International School hosted many entertaining Halloween events for our community as well as guests from the entire city.

On Friday afternoon, Elementary School children lined up in front of their classrooms to parade down to the soccer field and around in front of their parents and friends. After the parade, students returned to their classrooms for some Halloween snacks and sweets, a themed movie, or a party.

Halloween fundraiser

On October 29, the DAIS/DHS Student Government hosted the 15th annual Monster Mash in the New Gym. People from all over Dalian attended the event and the Student Government sold around 400 tickets. All proceeds will be used for running student-run events and activities including community service programs. With exciting music, attractive decorations, and delicious food prepared by the Student Government, everyone was able to enjoy the event. Monster Mash ended successfully, with people leaving the event with a bright smile and a bag of prizes.

Our students did an amazing job entertaining children and their families. We welcomed visitors from all over the city of Dalian, and student organizations collected an incredible amount of donations, including 5000 RMB made by the Star Lighters volunteers that they will use to support local kids and young adults with autism.

Haunted House

At the same time, the National Honor Society (NHS) hosted the Haunted House in the Bilingual School building, an event specially designed for older kids and teenagers. It was a scary but exciting venture as usual!

Trick or treating around the Campus Village is probably the most thrilling part of Halloween celebration at DAIS. Residents decorated their houses and prepared lots of candies for kids to collect and enjoy. When the night fell, our campus filled up with laughter of kids running around with their bags full of sweets.
