The holiday season is always a special time at our school, and this year was no different! From cheerful performances to fun activities and events, everyone got into the Christmas spirit. Students, teachers, and families came together to celebrate, share some laughs, and make memories that brought plenty of joy and togetherness to our school community.
"Winter Reflections" on December 3 brought festive cheer and warmth to the community, featuring exceptional performances from the Middle School Beginning Choir, High School Intermediate and Advanced Choirs, and the Musical Theater class. Highlights included heartwarming holiday tunes, a capella renditions, Broadway-style flair, and a grand finale of "All I Want for Christmas" uniting all ensembles. With stellar contributions from teachers, student conductors, and hosts, the evening was a joyful celebration of music and the holiday season.
On December 7, the Campus Village Lobby came alive with holiday spirit during our annual Christmas Bazaar. Attendees enjoyed roasted marshmallows, tasty baked treats, unique Christmas gifts, and a special visit from Santa Claus. A highlight of the day was the delightful performance by our young elves from the Montessori program, who charmed everyone with their holiday songs. Thank you to all who joined us and brought snacks to share—you made the event truly magical!
The 2024 Winter Concert: Affirmations, held on December 10, celebrated mental health and self-acceptance through a diverse program of music performed by beginning, intermediate, and advanced ensembles. From lively opening pieces played by students who’ve only been learning to play a musical instrument for four months, to the advanced orchestra’s powerful finale, the concert blended humor, depth, and inspiration.
Starting from December 2 to December 13, Student Government has hosted its annual December challenges. StuGov members prepared a variety of activities for our students, including but not limited to Christmas tree decorations, gingerbread decorations, etc. These engaging, fun activities indeed provided our students with a strong Christmas atmosphere.
The December 12 DAIS Elementary concert, Lights in the Night, brought the enchanting story of Yuval Zommer’s “The Lights That Dance in the Night” to life through music, dance, and storytelling. The performance began with younger students setting the scene with pieces like "Magic & Wizards in Winter" by PK/K and a captivating "Light Interlude" by Grade 1, narrating the journey of light from the sun through wintry skies. The Grade 4 ensemble’s "Sol Fallera" added an atmospheric touch, while Grade 5 student hosts seamlessly connected the story through dramatic recitations and musical numbers. The evening continued with Grade 2’s "Northern Lights" and Grade 4/5 combined piece celebrating the beauty and wonder of the auroras. The event culminated with a spectacular “Light Show” performed by all elementary students.
On December 13, High School Student Government hosted its last house event in 2024 that was comprised of four games: KFC Eating Challenge, Santa & His Reindeers Scooter Challenge, Human Christmas Tree Decorating Contest, and Winter Clothing Relay. Unlike the previous house events, these games were brand new, showcasing the collaborative efforts done by StuGov. Overall, our students truly enjoyed playing these games, and we will surely bring out more engaging events in 2025!
On December 13, the Elementary Student Leadership Council hosted a fun Pajama Day to celebrate the last day of school before the winter holiday. Many teachers and students got into the festive spirit by wearing Christmas outfits too!
