Open Days
To give students more of a voice in our school, we have launched the Elementary Student Leadership Council (ESLC) with our Grade 5 students! This program ensures that every student in Grade 5 has the opportunity to serve and develop leadership skills. Each student will take a turn on the council, with new representatives joining each quarter. They will be involved in organizing activities and spirit days for all of the students to enjoy.
As the Elementary Student Leadership Council’s first initiative, they organized a picnic to celebrate World Children's Day. During the Morning Roar announcements, they encouraged students to wear blue as a symbol of support for children's rights worldwide. The picnic provided a wonderful opportunity for students to enjoy time outdoors and share food with their classmates. As part of the event, the ESLC facilitated an activity where students shared their fears, helping them realize that they aren’t alone and that many of their peers are afraid of the same things.
Additionally, with Mr. Martin's assistance, they organized a special art activity for the Pre-K/Kindergarten, and Grade 1 classes.
