Open Days
Last weekend, DAIS and DHS student-athletes participated in two tournaments: the ACAMIS Cross-Country in Chengdu and the NESSIC U15 Badminton in Haikou. The teams represented our school community with excellence, poise, and determination.
This is turning out to be a November to remember for our Sea Dragons athletics program. Our ACAMIS Cross-Country team this year consisted of 11 athletes, with representatives in both boys and girls U15 and U19 events. The first day kicked off with the team relay race, where the Sea Dragons team finished in 5th place.
On day 2, there was an outstanding performance from Lucas in Grade 7 who finished in 2nd place in the U14 race thus earning himself a silver medal, a fantastic achievement!

Coach Walden was delighted to report that of the 11 athletes participating, 9 managed to run their personal best time which is the truest measure of progress and is something we can be incredibly proud of.

In yet another first for DHS we were invited to participate in the first ever Network for Enriching Schools and Students in China (NESSIC) U15 Badminton tournament hosted by Harrow LiDe School in Haikou. In this competition 3 of our boys and 3 of our girls competed with students from 10 schools around China.
Of our 6 players, Oliver and Jolie qualified for the Trophy competition (for the top 8 players in the pool stage), which Jolie narrowly missing out on a medal by finishing in 4th place. All of Sea Dragons team members enjoyed a significant growth during the competition and learnt how to deal with adversity and build their resilience on the court in what was a high standard competition.
We are looking forward to more opportunities being provided by NESSIC for our athletes in the future.
Team Coaches: Dr. Libingi, Ms. Donahue, Mr. Sanchez.
Go Sea Dragons!
