Open Days
As we gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving, the DAIS community embraced the spirit of gratitude and togetherness through a series of meaningful activities and events.
In the Elementary School, our talented students created beautiful Thanksgiving posters, trees, turkeys, and other artworks, each one a testament to the spirit of appreciation and kindness that thrives in our community. These creative projects brightened our school environment, showcasing the students' artistic skills and heartfelt gratitude. It's wonderful to see how these Thanksgiving activities brought everyone together, fostering a sense of unity and thankfulness.
Students took time to reflect on the many things they are thankful for. Through activities like designing a "thankful tablecloth" and creating a beautiful “thankful tree,” they expressed their gratitude in meaningful and creative ways. One class also made connections to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 14, Life Below Water, by considering the vital gifts the ocean provides, such as food, oxygen, and beauty. These activities encouraged students to appreciate both personal blessings and the natural world around them.
Our Middle School students enjoyed a delightful Thanksgiving luncheon, sharing stories and laughter over a delicious meal. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the many things we are grateful for. Teachers and students came together to celebrate community and fellowship, with help from the Parent Support Group. The event featured a potluck, with parents cooking and serving a variety of delicious dishes and drinks. It was a heartwarming occasion that highlighted the strong bonds within our school community.
To cap off the celebrations, our dedicated staff came together for a special Thanksgiving dinner, a time to relax, connect, and express our gratitude for the hard work and dedication that makes DAIS such a special place.
This Thanksgiving season at DAIS was truly memorable, filled with moments of reflection, creativity, and community spirit. We are grateful for the contributions of our students, parents, and staff, who made these celebrations so special.
