DAIS Community Reunited for a Strong Start to the School Year

Students, teachers, staff, and administration at Dalian American International School are thrilled to be back on campus after the summer break.

Faculty Orientation

DAIS Elementary and Secondary teachers have been on campus from August 8 preparing to start the new school year. During the several days of professional learning, they went through all details and expectations they need to refresh before the students return to school:

• Mission and Vision, School Wide Learning Outcomes (SWLOs), WASC Updates,
• Safeguarding, Multi-Tiered System of Supports,
• Nord Anglia University, Code of Practice,
• ... and many more! 

A special warm welcome to new faculty who started earlier and went the extra mile to feel comfortable, confident, and competent as they got to know our school better and prepared to meet their students.

Back to School Event

The Back-to-School event on Wednesday, August 14 afternoon has been a blast!

First of all, boarding students settled down in the dorm. Then, after receiving all necessary materials (including the student card - the most important document during the upcoming academic year!) and a short welcome speech by the school administration, all families headed to the classrooms to meet the teachers.

First Day of School

Returning to campus after summer is always an exciting time! On Thursday, August 15, DAIS Elementary and DAIS and Huamei Secondary celebrated the first official day of school with enthusiasm from both students and teachers. The day was marked by warm greetings from the Head of School and principals, icebreakers and team-building activities in classrooms, spirited assemblies, locker assignments, and the first nutritious lunch of the new school year.
