Students Are Back on Campus

Teachers greet students at the entrance

Dalian American International School opened its doors to students on Wednesday, September 1st after two and half weeks of distance learning. It has been wonderful to see everyone back on campus.

We have truly enjoyed kicking off our time together with a week of events, celebrations, and assemblies. On Wednesday morning our international students were able to experience something they would never be able to see in their home countries. They joined bilingual kids with a flag raising ceremony. We could appreciate and acknowledge that ‘Together is Better’ during a time that the world seems to be ripping further apart.

Secondary school kids were cheerfully greeted by the Head of School and their teachers just outside the main entrance. They received their ID cards, school supplies and have been assigned their own lockers. And of course they were happy to reconnect with their classmates and make new friends.

On Friday, September 3 Secondary School held two welcome back assemblies, one for High School and one for Middle School. This was an opportunity for the administration to welcome back our students and provide them with important announcements, while also recognizing our Student Government (HS) and Student Council (MS) officers.

It was a memorable return to campus. A great thank you to DAIS faculty for providing quality instruction online, now we get to create magic moments in person!
