DAIS Graduate Received an Offer from Harvard

Jazper Lu

Jazper LuJazper Lu was recently admitted to Harvard Law School. Valedictorian of the Class of 2021, Jazper studied at DAIS for over 11 years, starting in the first grade in 2010. After high school, Jazper pursued a degree in political science and public policy at Duke University, graduating early and with highest distinction.

Jazper got involved in journalism through his school newspaper in college, eventually writing for publications like Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal. At the latter, Jazper took advantage of his background in both China and the U.S. to report on the relationship between the two countries, including a full-circle moment where he wrote a story about the decline of American students studying in China. This year, Jazper will be also joining Bloomberg News as a legal reporting intern.

Nonetheless, Jazper had always planned on attending law school, as he mentioned previously when being interviewed as a senior at DAIS. He is interested in international and national security law.

Jazper's thesis

As Jazper said, "Staying open-minded and being willing to jump into new opportunities is the best advice I could give to students. Although attending law school has long been a goal of mine, I didn’t let those dreams force me down a predetermined path. Instead, I said yes to things I never saw myself doing and got to meet amazing people, travel to new places, and make cherished memories along the way. I’m forever grateful for the many years I spent at DAIS, a place where I formed close bonds with many friends that I remain in touch with today."
