Since 2006, Dalian American International School and Dalian Huamei School have been shaping well-rounded global citizens who are prepared to excel in a rapidly changing world. We’ve cultivated a learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, embrace diversity, and achieve their full potential. Our commitment to excellence is evident in the consistently high academic performance of our students, who regularly surpass both national and international benchmarks.
The most common score on AP exams during the 2024 administration was a score of 5. We administered 287 AP exams in May. Fifty-one percent of all exams received a score of 5, which is the highest possible score.
The overall pass rate at DAIS/DHS is 90 percent, and seventy-two percent of all exams receiving a score of 4 or higher. This is the highest passage rate in school history.
There were several courses in which DAIS/DHS outperformed the world and China averages: AP 2D Art, AP Music Theory, AP English Language & Composition, AP English Literature, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP US History, AP Statistics, AP Chemistry, AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism, AP Chinese Language, and AP Pre-Calculus.
Although not as significant, our students showed very good results in the following subjects: AP Calculus BC, AP Physics 1, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Biology, AP Psychology, AP Computer Science, AP Human Geography, and AP World History.
Sixty-six of the 124 students who took AP exams earned AP Scholar recognitions. We had a significant number of students earn the AP Scholar of Distinction. This is one of the most prestigious AP awards. To earn AP Scholar of Distinction a student must earn an average score of 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and get a 3 or higher on at least five exams.
Let us congratulate our students for their achievements and thank the school faculty for their hard work!
