AP Recognition and Distinctions

Graduating students

The Advanced Placement program which was developed by the College Board annually recognizes students who perform well on multiple Advanced Placement (AP) examinations. The DAIS administration, faculty and staff are very proud to announce that despite the difficult testing circumstances and late-night exam administrations, we have 55 award-winning students earning various accolades from College Board. The awards include AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor, AP Scholar of Distinction and the AP International Diploma. DAIS is also proud to announce that 125 AP students (84%) received a score of three or higher during the 2020 administration of AP exams. This spring DAIS and DHA had 148 students participating in AP exams completing a school record, 285 exams. The DAIS family is proud of these accomplishments.

The AP Scholar award is granted to students who receive a three or higher on three or more AP exams. These twenty-five students listed below from Dalian American International School/Huamei Academy (DAIS) earned AP Scholar designation:

The AP International Diploma is awarded to students who display exceptional achievement across a variety of disciplines by receiving a score of 3 or higher on five or more AP exams in three or more different content areas. The pictures above show the score distribution for all AP exams taken in 2020. DAIS and Huamei Academy students on average scored higher than all schools globally in 17 of the 18 AP exams offered at the school. DAIS and Huamei Academy performed better that other schools in China on 11 of the 18 AP exams offered at the school.
