Secondary School Operation Protocols

The Dalian Education Bureau gave us permission to resume onsite classes for DAIS Grade 12 students starting on Wednesday, April 15.

On Thursday, April 8th the Dalian Education Bureau gave us permission to resume onsite classes for DAIS Grade 12 students starting on Wednesday, April 15. This is a small cohort, but it is the first step in getting our school back together in the same place once more.

We anticipate that DAIS students in grades 6 – 11 and DAIS Elementary students will be allowed back to school on a staggered basis in the coming weeks. No specific dates have been given, but we expect that we will receive one week’s notice when a decision has been made.

Please review the Secondary School Operation Protocols which will apply to those students and staff that will be on campus starting on April 15. The guidelines contained in this document have been developed after a careful review of:

  • relevant directives issued by government officials,
  • information gathered from global medical institutions including the World Health Organization and the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and
  • advice from medical professionals, other international schools, local public Chinese schools, and ACAMIS.

Elementary School Operation Protocols will be shared with the teachers and community as we get closer to the date of reopening this division. Meanwhile everyone is encouraged to read the Secondary School Operation Protocols to gain an understanding of the general guidelines that will eventually be implemented school-wide.

The Start of School Year

The start date for all DAIS divisions has been moved from August 5th to September 1st. We continue to monitor the recent Covid-19 outbreak in the Dalian area and will report to the community any impact that this outbreak may have on the start of the school year.
