Harvard, Tsinghua, and Beyond: DAIS Graduates Return as DMECC Youth Summit Mentors

DMECC summit

As the school prepares to host another Youth Summit in the 2026–2027 academic year, the leadership initiatives delivered in partnership with DMECC continue to serve as a consistent and high-impact component of the DAIS/DHS experience.

Legacy Program

Several former DAIS and DHS students who once held leadership roles within DMECC will return next year as mentors. Each of them first experienced the DMECC programs and the Youth Summit as participants and student leaders and now return with new perspectives shaped by their university journeys. It is a meaningful example of how student leadership at DAIS and Huamei continues beyond graduation:

Youth Summit

Students who participate in the DMECC Youth Summits build confidence in communication, strengthen collaboration, and develop the willingness to take initiative, applying their thinking to real-world challenges beyond the classroom. For many families, this offers a clear example of how students at DAIS and Huamei grow not only academically, but also as confident, capable young leaders.

About our Partner DMECC

DMECC logoFounded in 2017, DMECC began with a focus on supporting the education of migrant and village children in China — helping young people in poorer communities get better access to learning. Since then, we have grown into programs that help young people learn, lead, and grow.

Our Youth Summits and core programs - Mother's English, Curious Kids, and Our Home - give teenagers the chance to do more than listen. They teach, mentor, and run their own programs for younger children, building skills that stay with them for life: leadership, teamwork, and the confidence to take action on their own.

For our students, this is more than an activity. It helps them develop real-world skills, take on their own initiatives, and build experiences that strengthen their CVs and university applications - helping them stand out beyond their grades.
