Breaking News! Our North Gym Transformation Begins

We are excited to share breaking news for our DAIS and DHS community. Nord Anglia Education has approved a $350,000 (approximately RMB 2.45 million) investment to transform our North Gym building into a dynamic, multi-use space for sport, performance, and student life.

What’s coming

This upgraded space will include:

• A professional performance venue for music, drama, and events
• An extension to provide a dedicated orchestra practice and instrument storage space
• The orchestra practice will be divided from the stage by a movable wall to support multiple uses and enable instruments to be easily moved on and off stage
• Modern lighting and sound systems
• Improved acoustics and soundproofing for high-quality performances
• Enhanced indoor PE and sports facilities (fully air-conditioned)

The result: A high-quality performance space that matches the standard of our musical programs, enables smooth transitions between PE, sports events, and performing arts, and enriches the daily experience of every student.

What happens next

We are already working with specialist performing arts designers and progressing through approvals and planning. Work will begin during the summer holiday, with visible improvements month by month throughout the next academic year.
