High School Talent Show

Two high school girls singing

On Thursday, March 25th DAIS and DHA Student Government presented the fabulous High School Talent Show. Our students prepared seventeen performances including dances, songs, instrumental musical pieces, and even stand up sketch shows.

Performances were diverse and reflecting personality of each participant. Take Iverson who brought the house down performing his own rap composition, or Mandy who presented a heart-piercing song about her own birthday. From Wendy presenting Amarilli, an old madrigal, and Cici with a piece of classical Peking Opera, to Amy and Kelly with The Loneliest Girl composition and Wayne with the Chinese song 我又想你了 (I Missed You Again), all singers brightened up the night with their euphonious voices.

Chinese song parody

Many students sang duets with their classmates. David and Jed stunned the audience with 粉红色的回忆 (Pink Memories) – an old song by Han Bao Yi, and in that part they were a perfect scream! Sharon and Sophia chose “idontwannabeyouanymore” by Billie Eilish, a young American pop star, and Caleb and Eddy accompanied by Wendy performed the popular Night Wind. Shun and Rain with their sentimental Chinese rap almost made us cry, and Jane and Silas (A Song For No One) blew us away with their musical talent.

Talents Revealed

Singing is not the only talent of our students. Allen and Goldberg broke the mould that night introducing some street dance moves. Their perfect skills and expression really stood out!

And right after the dancers we welcomed a whole rock band on the scene. Sharon, Danny, Peter, Kevin and David (and Mr. K on bass guitar!) prepared a musical surprise for us.

The night couldn’t be perfect without a good joke! Eric and Michael made the audience burst sides with laughing while presenting a skit about speaking foreign languages (that’s a sensible subject in every international school for sure!), and then the Chinese sketch about a musical housekeeping robot by Ella, Peter and Zoe stole the show.

Saying Goodbye to Seniors

But the most touching moment was the final performance by DAIS and DHA seniors. It was the last time for us to see them all together on the stage, and they did a great job to surprise us with singing, dancing, making fun and saying goodbye to their high school life. We will miss them all!

Class of 2021

We would like to thank all our talented student performers for this unforgettable evening. We hope to see those who stay at DAIS on stage very soon, and good luck to our seniors who are about to open a new page in their lives.
