Summer Enrichment Program

This year DAIS offered the Summer Enrichment Program from June 8 to June 24.

This year Dalian American International School offered the Summer Enrichment Program to all current DAIS and DHA students from Monday, June 8 to Wednesday, June 24.

In the Secondary Division, the program provided students with an opportunity to build fundamental, educationally-sound social and intellectual skills in a safe and caring environment. Courses were aligned with the school’s mission to facilitate a challenging, collaborative, and responsive learning environment that develops student intellect, character, and health. Students were engaged in diverse extracurricular activities such as STEM, Chinese Drama, Graphic Design, Public Speaking, Art and Observation, Junior 21st Century Leadership, Practical Lab Skills, Female Fitness, and many more.

The Summer Enrichment Program for students from Pre- Kindergarten – Grade 5 was designed to provide students with engaging and rigorous instruction in Language Arts and Math coupled with various additional activity sessions developed with language enrichment and collaboration in mind. Every day students at each grade level attended a homeroom class, where Math and Language Arts were taught, along with a Passion topic that further enriched their learning. Students were also engaged in Art with Mr. Martin, Music with Mr. Reyna and PE with Coach Krakowski throughout the day. Child had lots of fun while improving their literacy, mathematics, art ability, musical skills, and physical fitness skills during the program.

Many students have been isolated in their homes for several months, exposed to excessive computer screen time and involved in limited physical activity. The Summer School was designed to provide students with three weeks of interactive, engaging and rigorous instruction in various content areas. The goal of the summer program was to stimulate student interest, creativity and problem-solving, rebuild social connections and set students up for success going into the 2020-2021 school year.
