The Middle School and High School Choirs performed a beautiful winter holiday concert tonight. The multipurpose room was transformed into a sparkling concert hall with our grand piano center stage, twinkling lights on the Christmas tree, and hand-cut paper snowflakes adorning the back wall behind the choral risers. Each of the six choirs was featured, and they also performed as a combined mass choir.
The audiences were delighted to hear the ensembles singing some well-known carols such as “What Child is This” and “Mary Did you Know” as well and some fun secular songs like “Sleigh Ride” and “Run, Rudolph, Run,” and “Jingle Bells.” The Advanced Choir sang a memorable mash-up of “Jingle Bells” and Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” At the High School Concert, seniors Fiona Liu, Abigail Lising and Max Hong sang solos. Freshmen Sharon Sun, Sophia Zhang, and Jazzton Lu also performed heart-warming duets. The Middle School Choirs made us proud by performing with decorum and poise.
All in all, it was a delightful evening and our DAIS and Huamei students did a wonderful job of getting us in the holiday spirit.
