Open Days
It was exciting to see the entire school community gathered together on Friday, September 15 for fun and fellowship, reminding us of the special, diverse, and close community in which we live, study and work!
Children could play a plethora of games - water bucket relay (novelty of the season!), splash balls, tug of war, water spraying target, bungee trampoline, donuts on strings, soap bubbles, painting, and many, many more.
Families participated in three fun races organized by the DAIS girls' volleyball team - one for the youngest athletes, a shorter one (1.5 km) for elementary school kids and their parents, and a long-distance race (3 km) for the most experienced runners. Fees collected for the Fun Run will be applied to volleyball team jackets and the upcoming ACAMIS tournament in Beijing.
DAIS/DHS student charity organizations did fundraising by creating games and selling food items to support their great causes.
StarLighters made 3000 RMB from this amazing event. We had 3 booths - the beanbag toss game, the rock knocking game, and the face painting booth. They will donate all the money to ChenXingYuLin autism institution. These funds will be used to purchase food for the kids.
The fundraising event was a huge success for the Action Potential team that was created to promote healthcare and raise awareness about various diseases. They earned around 2000 RMB by selling homemade lemonade and fruit bowls! The team donated the money to support leukemia patients.
Our restaurant line-up this year included our school café Hungry Scholar, Wandering Moose, Indian Hut, Ba Lay Malaysian, Hard Rock and Hilton hotels.
A big thank you to the Parent Support Group and student organizations for promoting family bonding and friendships! "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much." — Helen Keller
