March Madness - Sporting Highlights

Badminton

The month of March is famous in the USA for College Basketball – there are so many games played that many people refer to it as ‘March Madness.’ Here at DAIS/DHS we have had a similar feeling, with March being packed with events and student activities. With ACAMIS Football and Badminton tournaments coming soon, we are glad that our students had many competition opportunities.

Varsity boys soccer played a game against teachers and Campus Village resident fathers on March 2 and three scrimmage games against adults, including Intel team, on March 4. The boys improved with every game.

Boys soccer

On March 7, Varsity Co-Ed badminton won 4-1 against the JV team. Players demonstrated skillful play and positive sportsmanship as our Varsity team was preparing for ACAMIS.

Varsity girls soccer hosted the teachers in an entertaining encounter on March 21. There were goals galore in a foggy second half. Though teachers ran out 7-2 victors in the end, our girls learned a lot from this game.

Boys soccer vs Ealing School

Another great football match happened on March 23 when Varsity boys soccer played against Ealing International School Dalian. The Sea Dragons looked sharp and energetic in the 8-1 victory.

We invited Shenyang Transformation International School for boys soccer and girls and boys badminton games on March 25. It was a lively atmosphere throughout the day and DAIS were victorious in both soccer matches and in the Varsity and JV badminton matches. We hope to strengthen our relationship with STIS next year.

Boys badminton

On March 28, Varsity and JV girls and boys badminton both lost 4-1 on the road against Dalian Mincheng Club. Games were intense and a valuable learning opportunity for our student athletes.

Finally, Varsity boys soccer continued their ACAMIS preparations with a 10-0 victory on the road to Ealing International School.

The Sea Dragons are enjoying the benefits of participating in activities and events beyond the classroom. We wish our teams best of luck in the upcoming ACAMIS Badminton and ACAMIS Soccer competitions!
