Social Impact Report: Semester 1 Community Service at DAIS

Community partner highlights

We are delighted to share with you the outcome of our Semester 1 Community Service activities at Dalian American International School.

As part of the Nord Anglia service driven programs Share a Dream Social and Environmental Impact Report, our students show how they are actively engaged in learning about service in their lives and how their gift of time and support can generate significant impact for others in need within and beyond our community.

Nord Anglia and our school staff provide support for our students in developing understanding and commitment to Sustainable Goals Development (SGD) through our school activities. We have targeted specific SGDs that best align with our community context and a longer term commitment to ensure strongest impact over multiple years. Our school is focused on SGD #1 No Poverty; #4 Quality Education, and #10 Reduced Inequalities.

During the up-coming summer period, two of our students will attend the UNICEF SGD Summit Conference in New York, USA, and be able to bring back their skills in SGD leadership to ensure our school has the focus and organization for sustaining our service commitments over time. We will share more news of the UNICEF Summit in due course but, for the time being, we can also celebrate the success of our students in their devotion and dedication for making a positive difference in the lives of those who benefit from our SGD activities.

In the following report you will read about how our students have focused on Research and Advocacy, Community Service, Goods Collection and Fund Raising as they have purposely built their SGD Goals commitments.

Please join with us in this celebration of student success in the realization of our school mission and vision in positive character development and contribution through service to our global community.
