Last week, Grade 6 students learned how to use a microscope under the guidance of their science teacher Ms. Ana Diarez. Kids could observe different objects, including samples from the school-owned microscope slide kits as well as things they collected themselves around the campus - small insects, leaves, grass, seeds etc. Students also learned how to prepare microscope slides. The best ones will be shared with other Middle School students for future studies.
Also in October, DAIS Grade 9 students did a physics experiment in our amazing science lab to test how gravitational potential energy transfers to kinetic energy. Hands-on learning helps students put theory into practice, study a difficult topic easily and use scientific explanations and calculations to describe the results.
