Timothy is grateful that his love of science has opened so many doors.
Timothy Sim first became interested in science as a teenager when he discovered the book A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking. Despite struggling with the challenging concepts after chapter four, this was the catalyst that propelled him to university where he studied for an undergraduate degree in physics at the University of Exeter near his home in the southwest of England. Following graduation Tim worked for several years in the UK before deciding to adventure into the wider world, where he taught English as a second language for three years in Vietnam.
This teaching experience motivated him to return to his first love, so he decided to train as a science teacher, completing a Postgraduate Certificate of Education back in the UK. Since gaining qualified teacher status, Tim has continued his adventures working around the world in England, Slovenia, Cambodia and now China. He is grateful that his love of science has opened so many doors.
