Mr. Mcloughlin believes in an approach to social studies that focuses on historical thinking skills rather than a traditional content acquisition focus.
Bryan Mcloughlin graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1996 with a degree in commercial recreation. His path to a teaching career took an unusual twist. Before starting his teaching career, he worked as a park narrator at Sea World, a blimp crewman, and held various jobs at Disney resorts, including corporate team building with the American Gladiators. In 2001 Bryan decided to go back to school to get his Florida teaching credentials. He completed his education coursework at the University of Central Florida and Rollins College.
After obtaining his teaching credential, he taught 12 years at Poinciana High School in Kissimmee, Florida. In 2014 he began his international teaching career at the American International school of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During his teaching career he has taught various social studies classes such as AP World History, AP United States History, World History, and Model United Nations.
