Welcome to the Dalian American International School and Dalian Huamei Academy. We are so glad that you are taking the time to get to know us. We hope that this website answers some of the questions that you might have about our school.
DAIS was established in 2006 and DHA was founded in 2009. Both are managed by International School Services. Together the schools have a current enrollment of just over 540 students representing some 30 nationalities. DAIS is comprised of students in grades K to 12 from all over the world; and DHA is a secondary boarding school for Chinese Nationals. In the spring of 2018, we established the Dalian Huamei Bilingual School which offers a nine-year compulsory Chinese education taught in the Chinese language as well as western courses taught in English.
“At DAIS & HM, every learner achieves personal excellence and contributes to the global community.”
With this arrangement, international students gain an understanding and respect for their host country while our Chinese students can interact and work alongside their international cohorts. This rich cultural exchange happens within a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Our mission statement reads: “At DAIS & DHA, every learner achieves personal excellence and contributes to the global community.” As a registered Advanced Placement school, our students are given the opportunity to gain college level skills and credit while still in high school. And although our students are accepted into some of the best universities in the world, what we are most proud of is how they make a difference within their own community. We believe that the strength of our school lies in its partnership with parents and the surrounding neighborhood and stakeholders. As educators we strive to make a difference in the lives of our students so that, in turn, our students can make a difference in the world.
Again, welcome to DAIS and DHA. We invite you to come visit us to fully appreciate the magic of our community. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
