Life at DAIS

Experience Living at DAIS

DAIS is located in the neighborhood of Campus Village. Aside from the academic and athletic facilities, Campus Village has housing for members of the school community including faculty, staff and the families of students. While faculty and staff love the convenience of a short walk to work, families especially flock to Campus Village.

Not only can students walk unsupervised to and from school, but our gated community also provides parents with peace of mind that their children can play and socialize safely within our walls after school. Our campus safety is ensured by our guard staff who not only monitor every gate to Campus Village 24/7, but also make regular rounds of our well-lit campus.

One great benefit for Campus Village residents is that all school athletic facilities are available when not in use for instructional purposes. Also on-site, the Hungry Scholar Café serves Western and Chinese fare, in addition to snacks and baked goods and can help residents arrange for fruit, vegetable and meat delivery.

And what better way to put that food to good use than renting our smoke house and barbecue for a day of your own famous barbecue.

Getting On and Off Campus

The Dalian Light Rail is a safe, convenient and inexpensive way to travel to the Kaifaqu Development Zone and to Downtown Dalian

Due to the costs involved in car ownership and driving in China, most international families prefer to not own cars while in Dalian.

To meet their transportation need, most residents of our campus prefer to call our in-house driver, Jack. He and his fleet of trusted and vetted drivers can help you get anywhere in the city comfortably and safely. His team is also able to arrange for airport or train station pick and drop off by arrangement.

Living Arrangements

No matter the size of your family and spatial needs, Campus Village has a housing unit to meet your requirements. As the floor plans show, all units are equipped with modern appliances and conveniences suited to the needs of an international family.

Special Events

As Campus Village is an integral part of the international community in Dalian, many events are held on-site. The Parent School Partnership and the DAIS Sunshine Committee host events on campus such as Sports Day, barbecues, Family Night, Wingo, chili cook-offs and sports days. With an ever-expanding calendar of events, there’s always something going on in our community.

In addition to school related groups, outside organizations such as the American Chamber of Commerce and Dalian League of Volunteers have used our campus as a venue for activities such as the Summer Music Festival and the Welcome Wagon family services day.

In the Area

DAIS campus is located in the Golden Pebble Beach Resort of Dalian. Backed by hills one side, there is great hiking right outside out gates. Sharing this beautiful area with DAIS is a blueberry farm which offers products and tours in their newly built winery and lodge. Past the blueberry farm is the Tang Dynasty Hot Springs, which is a great destination in the cold of Dalian winter.

Dynasty features many pools for bathing and soaking as well as ‘herbal’ baths to relieve stress or offer other aromatherapy relief.
