Sharon loves music and has been a drummer and keyboard player in Rock Me AmaDAIS, the DAIS teacher band, for the past two years.
Sharon McCoy came to DAIS in 2016 from Portland, Oregon with her husband, Scott McCoy, who is a middle school language arts and social studies teacher. She comes from a long career in the biological sciences and worked in both academia and the biotechnology industry. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master of Science in physiology. In her first year at DAIS she worked as a substitute teacher and math and science tutor. She also began a graduate program through UCLA to obtain her certification in college admissions counseling.
During her second year she completed the program, which included an internship with the counseling department here at DAIS. She is very excited to be a full-time counselor at DAIS and the Huamei Academy this year! Sharon and Scott have three children in the US (all of whom have attended college!). Sharon loves music and has been a drummer and keyboard player in Rock Me AmaDAIS, the DAIS teacher band, for the past two years.
The start date for all DAIS divisions has been moved from August 5th to September 1st. We continue to monitor the recent Covid-19 outbreak in the Dalian area and will report to the community any impact that this outbreak may have on the start of the school year.
