Paul Ryker loves to learn and teach. Teaching 8 years with high school students, he has continued to focus on learning the important bits: valuing individuals and their effort, sharing narratives by which we live, and realizing immutable truths.
From developing paintings and artwork for Pacific clients, he transitioned to education in the Hidden Valley near San Diego, California. Following three years, a Master’s and credential, his family moved to an oasis named Al Ain, in the UAE. The desert experience expanded his appreciation of individuals’ diversity. He witnessed the varying narratives that people tell and value, and how these impact learning and growing. Art tells stories: The subject matter certainly speaks, but the creator’s hand weaves tales. He realized all the more that people rehearse stories through art(work). This fact manifests itself through his daily experience with an amazing woman and three little rascals: humans are designed to make stuff.
Dalian welcomed him two years ago. Amid new delights here, he found the same truths as the Middle East and Southern California. Art proceeds naturally from humans. Training and effort compel new discoveries and perspectives which bring the maker and spectator even more delight. Paul loves learning and enjoys participating with others in conscious artistic effort.
