Kevin looks forward to working closely with students, engaging them with literature, and being part of the DAIS community.
Kevin Stofocik graduated from George Mason University in 2008 with a BA in English. He continued his studies at George Mason and completed his master’s degree in education in 2011. Following his studies, he taught American literature at his former high school in Virginia for two and a half years before moving to Ulsan, South Korea to teach English to elementary students. Upon returning to the US, he worked with a local nonprofit in Virginia that supported adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
After two years of nonprofit work, he returned to teaching and moved to work in a rural Alaskan Native school. Although he enjoyed his time there, he was looking for an opportunity to both share his love of literature and expand his professional knowledge. Thus, he was excited to be offered a secondary English teaching position at DAIS. He now looks forward to working closely with students, engaging them with literature, and being part of the DAIS community.
