Biography

Joshua Jones graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, following that up with a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching from Christchurch College of Education. He worked in a delightful little country school near Rotorua for the first 3 years of his career where, among other things, he was involved in a pilot programme to teach Mandarin to kiwi kids. Because of this he was selected for a scholarship trip to Peking University in 2019, where he met his future wife, Cushla, also there on a study scholarship.

Together, they made plans to teach English in Japan for a year but instead entered the international teaching arena there and stuck around for 8 years! During that time they debuted Kiki (5) and Jasper (3) to great acclaim. They returned to New Zealand in 2018 for one year and now their complete, entire family is very excited to be coming to DAIS. In his spare time, Joshua enjoys reading, writing, gaming, concerting, playing, eating, sportsing and exercising.

The Start of School Year

The start date for all DAIS divisions has been moved from August 5th to September 1st. We continue to monitor the recent Covid-19 outbreak in the Dalian area and will report to the community any impact that this outbreak may have on the start of the school year.
