She loves learning about new places as well as exploring history, geography, and literature with international students.
Amanda Stark grew up knowing that she wanted to do two things: become a teacher and live overseas. She fulfilled her first dream by earning her bachelor’s degree in history teaching from Brigham Young University. After teaching for a couple of years in the beautiful US state of Alaska, she moved to Korea to teach in international schools, finally fulfilling her second dream. She loves learning about new places as well as exploring history, geography, and literature with international students. While living and teaching in Korea a second time, she earned her master’s degree in curriculum and teaching from Bowling Green State University.
Ms. Stark has now taught for nearly 20 years in the United States, Korea, and now China. She has taught middle and high school ELA, geography, world, and US history as well as AP World and US Histories and AP Human Geography. In her free times, Ms. Stark loves reading, swimming, and playing with her two rescue cats. She is thrilled to be in Dalian and part of the DAIS community!
